Ghost Story
Ghost Cellars is a limited production wine made to be enjoyed with friends and family. Ghost Cellars is made from a carefully selected vineyard that best represents the Cabernet Sauvignon grape varietal. We strive to balance the natural characteristics of the fruit, the elements of geography, geology, and climate or “terroir,” and new and neutral oak for a wine with structure, complexity, and elegance.
A “Ghost Winery” is the surviving structure and remains of a winery that was shut down during prohibition. In the Ghost Cellars vineyard there remains an abandoned railroad dining car (photo below). During prohibition this railroad car was intentionally brought miles away from the nearest track, well outside of town, to the middle of a field to act as a speakeasy. The name Ghost Cellars is our nod to the farmers, winemakers and history of winemaking.
